



Radio is a powerful medium: it can inform, inspire, move, and unite, not just through timely information but through song, story, participation, and human testimony. The STRADCOM project will harness this remarkable power, synergizing the resources of its partners and energizing listeners to ask questions, talk to their friends, and above all, take action. After three years, STRADCOM will leave behind a better-functioning, more highly skilled network of radio and development partners capable of producing world-class radio programs that improve the HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of their listeners. In realizing this vision of what partners can achieve through radio, the CCP team will be guided by the following principles: (1) encourage innovation; (2) add value; and (3) build local capacity.
CCP team has designed a program that balances comprehensive vision with flexibility, national programs with regional activities, and tested approaches with innovation. By supporting the work of USAID-, donor-, NGO- and GOT-supported prevention, testing, treatment, care, and stigma-reduction programs, the project will offer a promise of hope and achieve three program results: improved knowledge and attitudes, improved behaviors, and improved information on the radio. Specifically, we will help media houses and development partners improve the quality of HIV/AIDS radio programming, harmonize HIV/AIDS radio messages with community- and facility-based communication activities, and develop innovative and entertaining programming designed to:
